The IDF Spokesperson’s Unit subsequently issued a statement saying the military was committed to the government’s stated war goals, including destroying Hamas’s governing and military abilities, adding that Hagari had talked in the interview about “eradicating Hamas as an ideology and an idea.”

“Any claim otherwise is taking the remarks out of context,” the IDF added.

Hagari’s comments Wednesday echoed remarks he made last month, when he was asked whether the military’s need to return to areas in Gaza previously cleared of Hamas was a result of the government not making a decision on who will rule the Strip instead of the terror group.

“There is no doubt that a governmental alternative to Hamas would create pressure on Hamas, but that is a question for the political echelon,” he said at the time.

Defense Minister Yoav Gallant has urged Netanyahu to advance plans for postwar governance of Gaza, warning in May that a failure to find a replacement for Hamas will undermine Israel’s military achievements as the terror group would be able to regroup and reassert control of the enclave. Additionally, Gallant called on Netanyahu to rule out the idea of Israeli military and civil rule in Gaza after the end of the war triggered by Hamas’s October 7 onslaught, as some far-right members of Netanyahu’s coalition advocate.

Television reports have said IDF Chief of Staff Herzi Halevi and Shin Bet head Ronen Bar also recently feuded with Netanyahu over strategic planning, while National Unity leader Benny Gantz resigned last week from the emergency war government after the premier refused to present a postwar plan by the deadline he set.

Respectfully, it’s time to stand aside. You’ve given your all to Israel.

You & your government are leaving a legacy, a guarantee to the people of Israel that many of their offspring will be killed, as a result of your government’s actions. THAT IS YOUR LEGACY.

You have failed to eliminate Hamas. You have failed to eliminate Hezbollah.  In your attempts to do so, you have ensured the inevitable, enormous expansion of membership of both for generations to come and the eventual repeat of 7-10 in a far more sophisticated and heinous manner, upon Israelis.

After 7-10-2023, many youths of Israel will grow with a deep hatred of those who slaughtered their mother, and/or father, and/or siblings, harboring a fervent, festering desire for revenge. Others will seek justice and an existence at peace.

More so, many Palestinians, including children, are destined to die from lack of water, food and/or medicine, as some are bombed, while others are being denied vital sustenance, being held in an inhumane imprisonment by Israel.

That responsibility for mass slaying of men, women & children, as happened with Nazis, is now happening to people of Gaza and Lebanon in 2026 by you, Mr. Neyanyahu, and your government.

Stand aside, Mr. Neyanyahu.

 Under your watch, Mossad, once-revered as the best intelligence network globally, has become an object of ridicule. That Hamas entered and murdered so many on 7-10, on your watch ……………….. what part of responsibility do you bear, Mr. Netanyahu?

Step 1.  Cease hostilities. End the bombing of civilians in Gaza. End the bombing of civilians in Lebanon. Respect their sovereignty and withdraw your invading troops.

Step 2. Face the Israeli people for your government’s negligence leading to the slaughter of so many Israelis.

Respectfully, it’s time to step aside, Mr. Netanyahu. 

 Although it would be impossible under your government, people of Israel can co-exist with people of Palestine, PEACEFULLY; some immediately, others in time. It will take time to heal the wounds of your blindness.

Israel deserves a man of vision; a vision of justice for all in a shared land.
